Ali is a financial engineer with fifteen years’ experience in deal structuring, risk and portfolio management, and debt and equity investment across Africa and Europe.
He has a solid knowledge of the financial, industrial and infrastructure sectors as well as development financial institutions and investment funds.
Ali Lewiegry Coulibaly joined Southbridge in January 2018.
He began his career in the Credit Derivatives Market at CALYON in Paris.
Then, he spent two years at Eiger Capital in London as Vice President. Together with his team, he developed a vehicle for structured credit products, which has earned an Investment Grade rating from Moodys and S & P.
After a stint at Deutsche Bank UK and obtaining an MSc in Finance from London Business School, Ali joined the African Development Bank in 2009.
At the AfDB, he joined the Risk Department, where he was in charge of the Bank’s financial model, participated in the drafting of financial policy documents and carried out project evaluations. He also managed a portfolio of around thirty investment funds and set up the framework for evaluating and monitoring these funds.
Subsequently, he headed the West Africa branch of 54 Capital Ltd, a UK venture capital firm.
Ali Coulibaly has fifteen years of experience during which he has developed a broad area of expertise, including financial markets, securitization, corporate finance, investment funds and portfolio management.
Ali is fluent in French, English and Malinké.
