SouthBridge Group met with the Guinean Minister of Planning and International Cooperation to discuss strategies for the Simandou 2040 project.

SouthBridge Group, led by our Chairman and Managing Partner, Dr. Donald Kaberuka, accompanied by Mr. Emeryc René Ignace Kpenou, Ms. Irma Sobabe Ali, and Mr. Norbert Musana, recently participated in a high-level meeting with Guinean government officials, including the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Ismaël NABE. This visit underlines our commitment to supporting Guinea’s ambitious projects, including the Simandou 2040 program, economic rating initiatives and infrastructure development. As part of our ongoing collaboration, we are honored to bring our expertise to contribute to the country’s industrial transformation and sustainable development goals.

During the meeting, Dr. Kaberuka highlighted the transformative potential of the Simandou project, emphasizing its role in Guinea’s industrialization beyond the mining sector. Discussions also focused on using SouthBridge Group’s financial expertise to support the restructuring of state-owned enterprises such as Electricité de Guinée (EDG) and the creation of a sovereign wealth fund. We are committed to working closely with Guinea to ensure the successful completion of these initiatives, thereby contributing to the nation’s long-term economic stability and growth.

This partnership marks an important milestone in Conakry-Kigali cooperation, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening African nations through innovative financial solutions.
